What to eat after working out

When you work out, your muscles use their glycogen stores as an energy source, muscle tissue wears out, and water and minerals are lost through sweat.

Therefore, after working out, it is very important to rehydrate your body and ingest the right combination of carbohydrates, proteins and minerals, to replenish glycogen and thus recover energy, to repair muscle tissues and also restore lost minerals.

In this way, proper recovery is achieved and the benefits of working out are maximized.

Carbohydrates help the body recover energy, as they replenish glycogen levels. Some carbohydrate foods are: Fruits, oats, rice, potatoes, beetroots, whole grain bread, whole grain cereal, crackers.

The intake of different types of proteins after working out helps repair muscle tissue and build muscle mass. Some protein foods are: Eggs, chicken, salmon, tuna, dairy foods, peanuts, broccoli.

You can enjoy a Protein Shake made with Total Go, a pure Whey Protein Supplement…

Or you can take Total Vegan Delight, which contains Isolated Pea Protein, Organic Fruit Juice and Grape Seed extract.
